How to Create a Skype Profile
Once you’ve set up a Skype Account it’s important that you set up your profile that it introduces you well to possible friends and business partners.
Here’s are the step by step instructions to creating a Great Skype profile…
1. Log into your Skype Account
2. Go to FILE… Edit Profile
3. Get Familiar–There are two sides to this screen, one that EVERYONE will SEE and one for you’re contact’s ONLY.
4. Edit Left Side 1st –Here are some FREE Powerful Branding Tip #1
***Be consistent with your BRANDING NAME when you fill in the Full Name Slot. I recommend using some combination of your first, middle, or last. Stay away from Nicknames or company names if possible. Consistency is KEY! As you continue to input, remember that everything that you INPUT is search-able and will allow the right people to find YOU!
5. Enter your demographic information–Enter your City, State, Birth date, and Gender.
6. Homepage
BRANDING TIP #2–If you don’t have a .com like www.latoshatate.com, then send your new friends to the next best thing. Use social profile URLs if necessary. Stay away from replicated website links here. Remember, people are looking to learn more about YOU and you don’t want them making any judgements with out you’re consent.
7. About Me–Don’t be a sales person here. Sell your true attributes not that of any company or organization.
8. MYSPACE–It’s always good to use this feature
BRANDING TIP #3–It’s important to use this to the fullest. Remember, everything so far has been “Snap Shot’s” of who you are. If people like the snap shot they’ll follow every link and feel like you’re good friends by the time they contact you. Leading them with a Myspace Link is a great chance for the to see more photo’s, your full story, etc.
Moving to the Right Side–Public Info.
9. Phone Numbers–I recommend putting in a toll free number or cellular number here ONLY. Remember, not everyone online is Good. Make sure the number doesn’t like them to your home address or won’t cause a monster bill if misused. Just a friendly suggestion, of course.
10. Photo–This is your opportunity to be consistent once again. Keep in mind one simple fact…Your photo represents YOU! Be professional and polished.
10. Update–Once you’ve followed the above steps and are satisfied with your entries, hit UPDATE and you’re done. People will see this profile when you request them or when they request you as a new contact.
